The Goverment has created a Help to Buy scheme to assst people to buy thier own home with a deposit as little as 5%

Help to buy equity loans are available to first time buyers and homeowners looking to move house. With with type of equity loans you will only need to secure a 75% mortgage which Elm Tree Mortgage Advisers can arrange for you. The Government will lend you an equity loan up to 20% and the future 5% deposit is your responsibility. The equity loan can be paid at anytime within the loan term or on the sale of your home. 

 

There are no interest payments on the equity loan part for the first five years of owning your home. 

 

To qualify for the Help to Buy Equity loan you much be looking to purchase a new build and must be your only mortgage. Anyone will a trying to buy a second home or an investment property is not suitable for this product. 

 

 The property purchase price can not exceed £600,000. 

 

Step one is to work out your finances with your mortgage adviser and then visit house builders to find a potential new home. Before paying the reservation fee, speak to us to get a mortgage’ Decision in principle” this will provide you with an approximate idea of the size of mortgage you would qualify for.
